If you are new to this blog, or new to me, Hi, I am Martha. I love creating many things among them Art Dolls. I don't follow a particular style, I think is fun to try many materials and you can find many tutorials and goodies in this blog!
As someone that loves many different ways to create from my imagination, however, sometimes you need to focus and dedicate more time to one activity than the others.
For me it was painting, and making videos. I also love gardening but that's another story.
For a while, I created a lot of dolls, listed my work online, and kept creating in many ways. When I started to focus more in my videos, I was advised to only pick a topic for the channel to grow, and unfortunately, dolls went to the back burner.
Have you heard of that saying that says not to ride two horses at the same time? Well, I found myself riding three 😵😅😆
Then it came the marathon of moving to different houses, and cities. Totally unplanned, all of it due to my husband advancing on his job, which was a good thing but stressing.
Packing and unpacking became almost a new hobby, and I'm only half joking. For seven years I found myself in the middle of moving boxes, packing my arts and craft stuff, furniture and junk that only when you move more than once, you realize that nothing ever fits the same way in a different floorplan or house size. Really annoying!
Then came health issues, broken bones, surgeries and all kinds of maladies including the infamous unmentionable virus 👾
But anyway, back to Art Dolls, I delicately packed them in boxes, all of them. The finished dolls, the work in progress, the doll parts and materials, and the future-projects.
Some boxes remained unopened for years! Same for the blog. I enjoyed posting tutorials, mine and from others, and then it all stopped.
As I am trying to update things here in my blog, I just realized many of my doll makers friends and acquaintances also stopped creating or move their sites. 😢 Looks like around the same years many people changed directions?
If you read this, will you tell me if you are still creating dolls? Or perhaps just now plan to start making art dolls?
I'd like to hear from you!
As for me, I will spend more time thinking of art dolls and planning on how to finish the projects I left unfinished, little by little 💖
